Local 769 Taking Haitian Relief Effort Donations

On January 12, the island nation of Haiti was hit with a 7.0 earthquake that devastated the capital city, Port-au-Prince, left millions homeless and thousands dead.

Local 769, which has many members of Haitian decent, is helping charities collect items that will be shipped to Haiti in coming weeks. The local is also working with two faith-based charities to raise cash donations.

“As citizens of America and members of the Teamsters Union, we are all blessed,” said Teamsters Local 769 President Mike Scott. “It is time to help those who are not.”
